How I turned a creative business into a cohesive brand

Come along with me as I walk you through a case study of one of my long standing clients, Monica from Busy Bee Gift. Let’s explore how we visually created cohesion across all her product lines and platforms.

When Monica first came to me back in Feb of 2024 she needed a product photographer who would capture her products in a cohesive way for her brand. She reached out to me because of my creative aesthetic- colorful, bright, and lots of glitter! She really just did not have the time to photograph all her products in a way that would help her depict the mood and vibe of her brand. It’s easy to partner with a photographer for “pretty pictures”, but it’s another to have photos that make a client feel a certain way about a brand and their products. Monica’s brand is FUN. She uses bright colors in her designs, witty sayings, and beautiful, on trend artwork. Her photos needed to be just as fun as her products, so we got to work!

The first shoot we executed was for her Valentine’s Day collection, and in that shoot we did just a few styled scene photos. This was perfect for Monica to get a sense of my style and how we worked together. I always think this is a great way to approach a new partnership between a brand and a photographer. Monica loved the images, and I continued to photograph her collections from there. She even created a checklist that she would send over to me with each collection, that way I knew exactly what pieces were in that collection- it was a great way to make sure that no product was missed in the shoot.

I have photographed over 15 collections for Monica’s brand and captured countless b-roll video as well. In Monica’s own words- I have brought her products to life in a way she could have never imagined, and I helped transform her products into a cohesive, recognizable brand.
